Why Non-Infill Turf Supports Fairer Competition

Professional matches depend on field consistency. Traditional infill systems can experience infill displacement, uneven compaction, and localized hardening, especially in high-traffic zones. These changes may affect traction, bounce, roll, and athlete movement.

Vivaturf’s non-infill system reduces this variability by relying on the turf’s own engineered structure instead of loose materials. With consistent fiber density, controlled backing elasticity, and stable shockpad performance, athletes can experience more uniform feedback across the field. This supports fairer play and helps reduce performance differences between central, edge, and high-traffic zones.

Installation Standards for Professional Venues

For professional event fields, product performance must be matched with precise installation. Vivaturf recommends strict field preparation and inspection procedures.

The base should meet a flatness tolerance of ≤2 mm over 3 m, which is stricter than many general-use sports field requirements. Base strength should reach C25 or above, with proper moisture protection where needed, especially in enclosed or high-humidity venues.

During installation, seams should achieve bonding strength of ≥3.0 MPa, and seam areas should be calibrated to maintain consistent friction and ball response. Edge areas should be reinforced to prevent movement under repeated athlete impact.

Before handover, the field should be tested for shock absorption, vertical deformation, friction uniformity, ball rebound, ball roll, odor, TVOC, and anti-static performance. This full-process control helps ensure that the installed field performs as designed.
