For outdoor artificial turf, color stability should be considered together with light fastness and accelerated weathering performance.
Methods such as GB/T 8427 can be relevant when evaluating textile-type color fastness to artificial light, while specific artificial-turf products may also be evaluated using polymer/weathering methods appropriate to their construction.
The important point is that a color-fastness test and a UV-weathering test do not necessarily measure exactly the same thing.
Therefore, buyers should ask for:
- The actual test method;
- The tested product/model;
- The test result;
- The exposure conditions;
- Whether the report corresponds to the supplied product.
Rather than simply accepting a statement such as “UV resistant.”
For international projects, relevant EN, ISO, ASTM or project-specific requirements may also apply.
