Why Does Single-Color Artificial Turf Often Look Less Natural?

1. Natural Grass Is Not Uniform

A natural lawn contains different shades because of:

  • different leaf ages,
  • sunlight exposure,
  • moisture,
  • mowing,
  • seasonal changes,
  • natural yellowing and drying.

A large area of completely uniform green can therefore look visually different from natural grass.

Multi-tone artificial turf attempts to reproduce some of this variation by combining different shades within the yarn structure.

The goal is not simply to add more colors, but to create a controlled and believable distribution of tones.
